Cancellation Policy—Class fees are refundable to original payment if cancelled up to one week prior to class. Store credit will be issued if cancelled from the week prior up to 48 hours before class. There is no refund if cancelled within 48 hours of class. The shop or instructor reserves the right to cancel the class; in such event you will receive a full refund.

Learn to Knit   4 session class
Instructor:  Nancy Diliberto

Description:  If you are thinking about learning to knit, this is the class for you! The focus of this class is to teach knitting basics such as casting on, knit and purl stitch, binding off, increasing, decreasing, reading a simple pattern,
interpreting yarn labels, recognizing and fixing simple mistakes. You will also learn how to choose the correct yarn and needles for a project and what notions are essential for your knitting bag.

Learn to Spin   2 session class
Instructor:  Marie Woodford
Price:  $25, Includes Practice Roving
Time:  1-3 PM                    
Dates:  Oct. 20 and 27
Description:  Yarn has been spun on spindles for thousands of years. With a little fiber and a spindle, you too can participate in this oldest of crafts. In this class you will learn how to use a drop spindle, pre-draft the fiber, attach and join the fiber to the leader, park and draft, wind-on, add more fiber and finally wind a hank. Marie will also share her knowledge about types of fiber, how it is prepared for spinning, the difference between “top” and “roving” and various tools available for spinning.  We have drop spindles available for practice or purchase and Marie will bring her wheel if you would like to give it a spin!

Learn to Knit Socks   1 session class
Instructor:  Ann Pettit
Price:  $25, Pattern Included
Time:  1-4 PM
Dates:  Nov. 16
Description:  This sock class will help you make sense of knitting socks. You'll knit a mini sock as we cover each
section: A stretchy cast-on, proper joining, the heel flap, turning the heel, picking up gusset stitches, toe decreases, and the you'll-love-it-once-you-try-it Kitchener stitch.
Prerequisites:  Basic knitting skills; Must be comfortable knitting in the round (if you’re not, stop in and we’ll show you how; give yourself enough time to practice in advance of the class). 
Materials:  Bring a worsted weight yarn, preferably wool or wool blend (or just not a slippery yarn), DPN’s one size down from label recommendation (bring a variety just in case), basic knitting notions.

Learn Left-Handed Knitting   3 session class
Instructor:  Martha Sitzman
Price:  $40
Time:  5-7 PM
Dates:  Oct. 24, Nov. 7 and 14
Description:  Left-handed knitters, this class is for you! Join expert knitter and fellow left-handed knitter Martha
Sitzman as she teaches you the basics of left-handed knitting, including purling, shaping, chart-reading and more.
Materials:  Bring any weight yarn (wool or wool blend recommended) you like and recommended straight or circular needles shown on the label.

Accessories Etc.   Ongoing and Informal; Come any Wednesday that fits into your schedule or just for Nancy’s class.
Price:  $10 when Nancy is teaching
Times/Dates:  Wednesdays 1-4 PM
Description:  This is the place to be if you like to knit small projects, or you recently finished our Learn To Knit class and are ready to tackle your next project. We’re here to help you pick something out, answer any questions or simply give you encouragement.  *****We are planning to start a KAL project plus, we’re hoping to have Nancy Vandivert back to teach a class once a month. Details are coming for both of these.

Little Green Market Bag    2 session class
Instructor:  Marie Woodford
Price:   $25, Pattern Included
Time:  1-3 PM
Dates:  Nov. 10 and 24
Description:  Market bags make a perfect project: They’re relatively simple to knit (calling all new knitters!), they finish quickly (great idea for gifts!) and they’re ever-useful, especially now that plastic grocery bags are on the way out.
Prerequisites:  Basic knitting skills; comfortable working in the round is a plus but not necessary. 
Materials:  1 Skein of Nifty Cotton (available in shop), needles cir. 24” size 9, 16” size 10.5, basic knitting notions.

Briocherub Hat    2 session class
Instructor:  Pat Hazen
Price:  $25, Pattern Included
Time:  1-3 PM
Dates:  Nov. 3 and 17
Description:  The Briocherub pattern is about a Star Stitch translated into brioche knitting. Designer Katrin Schubert says that it was so much fun that it was difficult to stop knitting. The transition from brim to pattern is perfect to make you familiar to the pattern, which is a combination of well-known brioche stitches.
Prerequisites:  Basic knitting skills; can knit in the round. 
Materials:  Yarn and needle sizes posted soon.

Sydanmaa Mittens    2 –3 session class
Instructor:  Pat Hazen
Price:  $25, Pattern Included
Time:  1-3 PM
Dates:  Dec. 1 and 8; possible 3rd class
Description:  A beautiful project to knit while learning cables and other useful techniques.
Prerequisites:  Basic knitting skills; can knit in the round. 
Materials:  Ultra Alpaca, Cascade 220 or Shepherd’s Wool, needles Size 4 DPN’s, basic knitting notions including cable needle.

Needle Felting – Christmas Elf    1 session class

Instructor:  Martha Gibbs

Price:  $45, Roving Included

Time: 10:00-1:00 PM

Dates:  Dec. 7

Description:  Another of Martha’s popular classes. We haven’t seen her elf yet but know it will be wonderful.

Materials: Needle felting starter kit (available at shop)

KAL    3 session class

Instructor:  Kristie Swanson

Price:  $30, Pattern Included

Time:  1-3 PM

Dates:  Oct. 26, Nov. 9 and 23

Description:  Calla is a large triangle shawl worked top-down, starting with a classic garter tab. Sequences of broken rib alternate with charted lace and cable sections ad eds with a Picot bid-off. It's one size with measurements of wingspan approx. 71” / 180 cm, depth approx. 29.5” / 75 cm.

Materials:  Yarn called for is your favorite Worsted Weight but you can make a slightly smaller size using DK or Sport Weight. We have so many choices of all the weights; you're sure to find something that's just right for you. Needle size will depend on yarn but bring sizes 5-7, 40". You can pick your yarn out during the first class if you wish. Basic notions.
